End-to-end encrypted

Your photos.
Truly private.

Arcafold is a photo library that encrypts every photo on your device before it’s uploaded. No ads, no scanning, no one looking through your memories but you.

Private space

One unlock screen. Two separate spaces.

Your everyday password opens your library. Set up a second password, type it in the same box, and a separate private space opens instead, with its own photos and albums.

  • Your library never shows whether a private space exists.
  • Each space has its own keys, so opening one never opens the other.
  • Move photos into the private space whenever you like.
Sharing

Share with the people you choose.

Invite someone to your whole library, or to just one album. Decide whether they can only view, or add and edit too. You can change that, or stop sharing, at any time.

  • Before anything is shared, you both check the same four words.
  • Shared photos stay end-to-end encrypted.
  • Your private space is shared separately, or not at all.
How it works

Encrypted before it leaves your device.

  1. 1

    Encrypted on your device

When you add a photo, your browser encrypts it and a small preview with keys made from your password, before anything is uploaded.

  2. 2

    Stored sealed

We keep the encrypted files under random names. We can’t open them, and we can’t tell what’s in them.

  3. 3

    Opened only by you

Your devices decrypt photos in memory when you look at them, and never save them anywhere unencrypted.

What we can see. To run your account we see your email address, your name, how much storage you use, and what kind of devices you’re signed in on (like “Chrome on Android”). Not your photos, their dates or places, or your album names. Read the Privacy Policy

Questions

The honest answers.

Can Arcafold see my photos?

No. Photos, previews, albums, dates and places are encrypted on your device before they’re uploaded, with keys made from your password. Our servers store files they can’t open.

What happens if I forget my password?

There’s no password reset, because we never have your password. When you sign up you get a recovery key. Keep it somewhere safe: it’s the only way back into your library.

And if I forget my private space password?

The private space has no recovery key, so it can’t be recovered. That’s part of what keeps it private: nothing else can open it.

How much can I store?

Each account has 1 GB of encrypted storage, shared between your library and your private space.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Arcafold runs in your browser on your phone or computer. Encryption happens right there in the browser.

Are there ads or tracking?

No ads, no trackers and no third-party analytics. We don’t scan or analyze your photos, and we couldn’t if we wanted to.
